My journey
My passion for exercise began in childhood, propelling me towards an academic path in Physical Education: a degree in physical education, a postgraduate degree in cardiac rehabilitation, and a master's degree in exercise and health. However, the pursuit of knowledge did not end with this basic training – on the contrary, it only intensified my curiosity. Becoming a personal trainer exposed me to various national and international training programs that challenged how I had learned to understand movement.
My knowledge of biomechanics, anatomy, biochemistry, and exercise physiology has motivated me to become a better professional – being able to help those who seek my services with evidence-based prescriptions has become the essential pillar of my work.
However, during this journey as a personal trainer, I was once again challenged to question my beliefs about the role that physical exercise has, or should have, in promoting health and quality of life. It was the unexpected diagnosis of a congenital heart condition that profoundly impacted these views. Undoubtedly, this experience transformed my professional approach, making me even more careful, reflective, and aware of the importance of individualization in prescribing physical exercise.
